Our Mission
ELI5 Health exists because we believe everyone deserves to understand the science behind their health decisions.
“ELI5” stands for “Explain Like I’m 5″—a philosophy that complex topics can be made accessible without being dumbed down. We take peer-reviewed research from medical journals and translate it into plain English, so you can make informed decisions about your wellbeing.
What We Do
We read the studies so you don’t have to. Our team reviews the latest health research published in peer-reviewed journals and breaks it down into articles that anyone can understand. Every claim we make is linked directly to its source, so you can always verify what you’re reading.
We focus on:
- Nutrition science — What does the research actually say about diets, supplements, and eating patterns?
- Exercise and fitness — Evidence-based approaches to physical activity
- Mental health — The science of stress, sleep, and psychological wellbeing
- Preventive health — What the data tells us about staying healthy long-term
What We Don’t Do
We’re not doctors, and nothing on this site is medical advice. We don’t sell supplements, promote miracle cures, or cherry-pick studies to support a predetermined conclusion. If the evidence is mixed or uncertain, we’ll tell you that.
Why Trust Us?
Every article on ELI5 Health includes direct links to the original research papers on PubMed. We encourage you to click through and read the abstracts yourself. Our job is to make the research accessible, not to replace it.
